Dog Products You Just Can’t Live Without?

In the darkest corners of the phenomenon that is internet, some interesting products for man’s best friend can be purchased. The following are a few of the most bizarre things you can buy for your pooch, which like most weird and wonderful things have limited practical use in everyday life. However, it is nonetheless interesting that they in fact exist.

  • The PetsCELL™ is the first voice enabled waterproof GPS cell phone optimised for animals, that enables 2-way communication between you and your pooch. Review: a mobile phone for dogs is an interesting concept. However, dogs don’t speak English. In fact they don’t speak at all, which makes the usefulness of this device highly questionable.
  • Fur-ever clothing. Clothing made from your pet’s fur? Yes that’s right. Now you can take your pet with you everywhere. Review: slightly unnerving perhaps, but then again why not? It doesn’t hurt anyone.  Mittens, scarves, hats, and not to mention a black tie perchance?
  • A machine to test your dog’s DNA to see what breed it is. Review: If you have a dog of questionable lineage this might be the thing for you.
  • A USB Dog tag that hangs from your dog’s collar and contains important information should he or she run away. Review:  Top Tag Pet ID has software pre-loaded allowing the owner fill in blanks on contact details, the dog’s health history, food and diet, commands it knows, and even photos. Actually this one is quite useful!

If you are really into action-sports, it may interest you that complete sets of sky-diving gear for dogs (including helmets) may be purchased and so can gas-masks and a special protective woolly nose-cap for use down to -38C (suitable for those working with their dogs for prolonged periods in polar environment).
