It’s hard to believe that almost 6 months ago Chloe the friendly black labrador weighed a massive 61KG!

After almost 6 months of  regular walking and a diet change  Chloe has got down to 45.5KG!!  I have been helping Chloe on a volunteer basis and some would say I have gone way above the call of duty!  Yes, many times I thought, ‘I can’t do this.’  But then I thought if I don’t this dog will die.   The situation was unacceptable and I think I have helped the owner to recognise that.  The owner has been responsible and has ensured that Chloe’s health didn’t deterioate  any further, by providing her with veterinary care over the whole process when ever I felt she needed it.  As hard as this process has been I feel incredibly privileged to help Chloe and it is something that I will never forget and has shaped me into a better person.

When we started back in early May Chloe could barely walk 100 metres.  Over the past 6 months we have gradually increased the distance  and increased her cardio fitness out of sight.  Chloe can run at least 1km now! When I watch her run I have tears of joy swelling from my eyes. There are no words to describe how that feels…

You have know idea how hard this is for me to say,  but its time for Chloe to find a new owner that will give her the love and attention she so rightly deserves.  I would love to have Chloe, but I have to consider everyone in my family. My husband and my two daughters Elly and Katie. We also two beautiful dogs “Toby’ and “Laylah.”  At various times of the year we also look after other dogs for family where they stay with us for up to 8 weeks.

Chloe needs to loose another 5.5kg to get to 40kg, anything after that is a bonus!  Regular walking daily or second daily with a healthy diet will get her there. Consistency is the key.  There is no doubt in my mind that Chloe would be a loyal loving companion for the right person.

If you would like to meet  Chloe please leave a message on my post and I will contact you ASAP.  Kind Regards, Christyn.
