Doggie Rescue

Posted by: Dog Diaries on 27 Apr 2009

Everybody knows the RSPCA does their part in protecting animals but there are other great organisations out there who also address canine welfare such as Doggie Rescue.

Monika’s Doggie Rescue is a private registered charity that believes in saving and re-homing as many dogs as they can from the council pounds. They even have a valiant “no kill” policy. Doggie Rescue re-house ALL dogs they adopt from the pound. If owners of a newly ‘Doggie Rescued’ dog decide for whatever reason that they don’t want to keep it, Doggie Rescue will claim it back and find it another loving home. What a compassionate practice!

If you’re thinking of buying a pet dog, check out the puppies available on their site instead of heading to a pet store. Doggie Rescue only asks to be reimbursed for the basic desexing, vaccination, microchipping and heartworm testing only which generally costs between $250 and $345. You’ll save a lot of money and more importantly save an animal’s life! Check out their information booklet for more information.

Due to monetary problems, Doggie Rescue was recently on the verge of closing down. The current economic climate means that less people are willing to give donations. -However, their emergency appeal target has been reached and has avoided closure. This is great news for Monika and her dedicated team! And of course for all the homeless puppies out there..

Thanks to those who contributed and keep doing so!
