My dog alerted me to a fire

My dog Cassie that I had in the 80′s was one of the best dogs you could meet. She was an American water spaniel. Late one night i heard a banging on the back door. I was in bed. The door was in a porch with a toilet and laundry off to the side. It took a while to open the door as I was afraid of who it might be trying to bash the door down. When I did Cass was on the other side and the laundry was on fire. She could have run down the backyard and got right away from the thick smoke but she didn’t. I got my son who was 2 at the time out of the house and called the 000. She was and always will be my hero
